There is a POOPIE party going on over at Nesting Place today. You haven't heard of People Opposing Objectionable Pretend Plants In the Environment? (I know, it's should be POOPPITE, technically. But you know, whatever). Everyone who considers herself a POOPIE is linking up and posting photos of our fake plants: both our favorites and our fiascos.
Let me first say that the POOPIEs are not opposed to fake plants as a whole. Merely the fakes that look waxy and unnaturally bright and, well...FAKE.This is my first favorite. I picked out these stems at Hobby Lobby using the Nesters' criteria: pick fakes that look as though they could be real, or at least could have been at one time.
Here's another favorite. These are the only fake flowers I have in the house. They have fooled a few people from time to time. I think it's because of the fake water in the bottom. I really like these. I know they are fake, but they are tasteful fake. And if you disagree, they were a gift from the Nester so take it up with her.
And here is my fiasco. I know it is wrong. It is all wrong. Previously I had a pot of real rosemary in that space. But real rosemary needs inconvenient things like light and water. So when it began to shed its needles like a Christmas tree, I set out to replace it with something. Hence this fiasco. It was a temporary fix. Inevitably temporary.
Do you have any fakes in your house? Are they fabulous or fiascos? Link up at the Nesting Place and let us see!

poopiete? or what ever! That is true!
but yes we are not opposed to all fakes just the objectional ones.
nice work sister!
Fake plants....LIVE ON! They are the best kind. Your arrangement is beautiful and the roses look real. Right now, I am dealing with fake pumpkins....still a P!
I do have fakes, but very very nice fakes. I used to have those awful fake ficus trees that were oh-so-popular in the late 80s and early 90s, but those have been in the garage waiting for the next garage sale.
Your fakes are gorgeous! I want real stuff in my house, but I CANNOT stand all the little nats that come with them. I've even had the bug guy come in to spray them, but that doesn't do a dang thing. I may still try to get some trees for inside...I do love real greens.
:)

Ok, I have the same tasteful fake that the Nester gave you...I love it, but if I post it it will break the whole Poopies beware theme going on. I hope you still love me when you see my post, I had to use you since you did visit the same day that she posted this whole thing...she started it,not me. :)
Love me anyhow?
HI-larious!!!!!!!!
M ^..^
Oh what nice fakes you have! :)Nancy
Where on Earth do you find fake plants that DON'T look fake? I mean, I have not one fake plant in my house because I've NEVER found realistic fakes, anywhere. Suggestions??
I love both of yours! I need to find flowers like yours, they're beautiful!
Bella :)
I love the last fake in your pictures. I would put that anywhere! It is so cute!

Beautiful fakes! I don't think the POOPIE police will be showing up at your place.
I love the flowers in the small vase. They look just-picked from outside.
Do you really think your last fake is a fiasco? I was sort of coveting it. You and your sister could put fake food on the table and it would be delish! Some people just have the knack of making beauty from anything.
from one poopiete to another ~ you have great fakes!!
I loved all of yours :)
The Poopie Party is totally cracking me up!
I sort of like the little tree!!!
You know, I nearly didn't include the little tree because I sort of like it too. But it really does LOOK fake. In real life, anyway. I feel like it needs something more to make it okay. But I'm glad some of you like it...maybe I'll keep it up indefinitely temporarily :)
I am a POOPIE and all, but I like your fiasco! Call me crazy if you must.
pretty poopies~!
Your poopies should really be called pretties.
Fake plants can go either really, really good or really, really bad. I try to avoid them at all costs because I know it would just be a disaster!
Love your fakes, especially the white flowers in the fake water. Deana
Just working my way down the P.O.O.P.I.E. list from your sister.
I love that first arrangement. I need to get into feathers and more natural stuff. I had fun posting my real and bogus arrangements on my blog today and seeing if anyone could tell them apart. (I think the glass grapes are going to be a dead give-away.)
I love your beach wedding pics.
My son is a second shooter, too :)
thanks for hopping over to see my fakes :)
I left a comment over there telling you that I do not have a Blog Researcher...I was being sarcastic. My friend, Jodi, scours the blog world for the both of us and tells me what to read.
I have 11 children, and this is her "ministry" to me - and I love it!
I just read the story behind your blog title.
Beautiful!
Hello my name is Edie and I like fake plants. Is there a 12-step program? 'Cause I may need one. Yours are tasteful and really I think mine are too.....but it's so easy to cross the line.....one fake too many and pretty soon I'm lying in the floor, hot glue gun in one hand, fake grass in the other and I don't even remember my own name anymore.....and who is that man trying to help me up? Okay, I love your blog and have had way too much caffeine!
Not, to my chagrin, in the form of pumpkin spice latte. If you can believe this, I live forty five miles from a Starbucks. Insane, I know.
It's all good!
I love the fake water...I have some of that going on too...I think it is funny that I have to dust fake water from time to time!
Poopie just doesnt fit the name for your pretty decor. I vote you having the best fakes....fake me outs!!! Love them.
I have some catching up to do here. Yeah, I have a few fake plants and they're pretty bad. *big sigh* I need to let them go...it's time.
Love your house and really love the cabinets in your old house, what a transformation. I posted a few pictures of my house please come over and help me out. I would love to paint my cabinets, but not sure. Your decorating is great, keep up the good work.
