a reason to celebrate

The Nester and her family came to visit this weekend. They just moved from their old neighborhood (which also happened to have a community pool aka: GOLD MINE). So they've been hot, which she recently posted about here.
Nothing a hose and a couple of Rubbermaid storage tops can't fix. This one was especially glad to have her boy cousins in town. She is all about some action. They were all here because somebody turns 2 today.
It seems like just last week I was writing this post. And now poof...it's been 2 years. I haven't had a lot of time to sit and think about the past 2 years since he made our little family complete. I tend to need lots of time to think and process before I can truly appreciate how crazy blessed I am. For now, I am simply thankful to celebrate life with family. And cake. And Rubbermaid tops.

What a blessing family and CUTE 2 year olds are! It is hard to slow down and take a look at how fast they grow! Mine is 17 months and I needed that reminder that I should take some time and just slow down...remembering how much Allikaye has blessed our lives...just like you and your cute boy!! Happy day to him!

We had a drama before the message today (which, incidentally was called "You're Gonna Miss This") that made me cry. It was a dad who was about to grudgingly build a model with his young son. He sends his son for newspaper and the son comes back three or four years older. It goes on like that again until the son finally comes back a teenager, much to the surprise of the dad. He ends up wondering where the time went, and if the things he did as a dad were enough to lead his son to love the Lord. It ends with the youngest boy coming back out and the dad realizing he has the chance to spend each moment he has with him to the fullest. It made me cry, since my 8 year old was only 2 last year! :) How fast the time goes!

aaaaahhhh---he's so sweet. Where's his pink binky?! :)

Just sit and basque in your thankfulness. You deserve it!

And thanks for the great idea to use rubbermaid lids in a new and creative way....
