a little more crazy

I bought fudge rounds today. I haven't bought fudge rounds since 1992.

I needed them, though, because the chocolate cake my mom left here from my dad's birthday is gone. Took care of that entirely by myself. She only brought half the cake. But still. And yes, I am looking forward to the mint chocolate chip ice cream tonight.

I don't know what's up with my sweet tooth. I've got a mouth full of sweet teeth.

I think its the house. I haven't named her yet. Well, not gonna lie, I kind of have. But I'm waiting a while before I start really calling her that just to be sure it fits. Kind of like how you don't wanna tell the fam the name of your baby before it's born because what if you change your mind and they've already ordered the monogram.
I've learned a lot about her over the past 3 weeks, though. I think she was a little reluctant about us coming in and changing things all up. She's pretty traditional...not crazy about change. Speaking of change, I took this photo last week. Then the Nester came and borrowed things from this room to nest up the rest of the rooms, leaving this room looking rather bare. Lots of rooms in this house. I wasn't sure if I would like that at first, as "the open floor plan" is kind of the thing these days.I've been enjoying it so far. There are lots of places to be. And I'm all about being. It also leaves a lot more places for toys to be. As you can clearly see, here on our table right off the kitchen.

Which brings me back to the fudge rounds.
Look at her. She's totally mocking me. It's all her fault. All this thinking and nesting and hammering and cleaning. I'm lucky my sweet teeth are my biggest problem. That and the whole house name commitment thing.

I will let you know when I've settled on one...in plenty of time for you to order that monogram.

I love the way you speak of your homes.. like they are family. That's how I feel about my home (well there have been 5 of them in the last 8 years) and one of the reasons I enjoy your blog so much.

Sounds like you guys are getting to know one another.

I LOVE the new house. Such wonderful colors on the walls, crisp white trim and beautiful warm woodwork. I think it's coming along nicely. It looks like a home... not just a house. I think the toys help with that. :)
Please, please, please show us more!!! I just bought the candle "sticks" you have on your table, but they are black. I think I may like them white better... maybe it's time to break out the paint!
I would really like to see how the wall with the fireplace turned out. So exciting!!!
Good luck with the sweet teeth. I find it's best to just give them what they want. :)

Best wishes and thanks for sharing,

I loved peeking around the stair case...felt like I was there... but I am still left pondering about Nester's borrowing. Do you let her do what she wants with your stuff or do y'all disagree sometimes?..ya know, sister fussin' or do you trust her style completely and feel relieved when she offers up ideas?

My Meredith does the same thing when she visits, finally one room looks better, but then it is time to shop again for all of the empty place she took from...I can't complain though, I love her style and would let her take over my entire house if she offered.

I did get a monogram machine recently....not sure how to use it, but maybe I can learn before you make the announcement.

ok...enough said..too much coffee
been missin' you!

Fudge rounds? You need to post a pic of that. I can't recall what one looks like.

I had a dream about you last night...you were telling me you were pregnant! Baby no. 4!

I was just going to ask if you were pregnant!!?

Oooohhhh, I can't wait to here you're house's new name. She's just cleaned up so nice. That sun room is amazing and look at all of those trees!

Moving is so stressful with kiddos...so eat on, sister. Eat on.

Besides my grandmother's home, I've never lived in a house I loved... can't wait til we move into our first 'not a tract home'

sounds so lovely- but hard work, no?

Am I dumb? Should I know what a fudge round is?

Dying to know the houses name.

It better not be Debbie.

I think you should have a contest where people have to guess your house name.

And I really like your blog, but it always makes me shudder when people name their houses or cars. That puts you two steps closer to being Crazy Cat Lady.

But I would participate in said contest.

Your house if beautiful. I'm jealous :) I'm glad I'm not the only one who doesn't know what a fudge round is, but it sounds good. Well, I loved your kitchen cabinets, so decided to paint mine. and so far I love them. I will post pictures as soon as it's all finished.

How did I miss this post before? I guess I got held up on that giant fudge round...have I mentioned I'm off sugar and dairy. I guess that is why I was licking my computer monitor when that Li'l Debbie post came up and I didn't even bother to scroll down.

ANYWAY! Your home is looking so lovely and fresh. I've never thought of naming my house; although, I have named furniture before. I'll never forget you Leatha Jones, you comfy leather sofa you.

Mmmm...fudge rounds...I've always been partial to the swiss cake rolls myself. It could explain my fascination with decorating with black and white in our house. Yum. ;o)

Looking forward to seeing more of your gorgeous place! :o)
