Last night while my fairy blogmother was bippidy blogidy boo-ing away on my blog design, I was busy watching Friends with one eye open. It was very late. But not so late that my house-loving, color-picking, half-asleep self could ignore Monica's bathroom during The One Where Chandler Takes a Bath.
Something about that bathroom looks awfully familiar, I thought to myself.I guess I just accept things like this on TV. I mean, it's TV. It's Friends. It's Monica. I forgive her. But if I walk into a house that I'm thinking of buying and see purple trim...well, it's kind of different.
A big improvement, don't you think?
Too bad I don't have a fairy housemother to redo our house for us. She would never leave a mess like this.
Or this, in the kids bathroom.
She would also never, ever leave her water bottle on the toilet in the middle of my bedroom.Instead, I've got these guys.
And this lovely trench in my backyard.
She would never leave that trench. Unless she doubled as a groundhog, but what kind of fairy housemother would do that? I'm getting just a teensy bit nervous, as the clock strikes mid-night on May 6. That is the day we will bid our farewells to sweet Sophie Marie and head on over to the new house for good. Here's to hoping that glass slipper fits.

why monica needs forgiving

i know it's going to turn out just as beautifully as your new blog.
your friends addiction is so cute.
Hoping it fits as well. I'm sure you'll make it home.
LOVE the new blog design!
it won't be long now, and you're gonna feel at home in no time!
What's the name of your new house? Is it a male or female? Just curious.......he/she has to have a name....
Lookin' good! Sorry, I can only be one fairy ____mother at a time. Maybe in a few years it will be a fairy housemother but you'll be all done renovating by then. Oh, and then there is that "we live in different states" thing. What's the trench for? Oh, and I want to see some kitchen photos girl!
Can't wait to see the pictures of the finished house, and I am impressed that at least your potty is inside the house. When we put in the wood floors (and by "we" I mean my husband) I came home to find ours on the deck. Have mercy.
Sorry...the trench is to bury some wires that go from the roof of our house to the roof of the garage. They don't meet code and are frankly an eyesore.
And Meredith: the house is female, of course. And a name? Well, I have one in mind, but I need to wait til we live there a while to get a feel for her personality.
all i know... that is a gem of a house. fortunately you had an eye to see it!
you're gonna make that slipper sparkle!
Your blog looks AMAZING!!! Wow, at first I wondered if I clicked on the right Favorite and then I saw that cute picture of you and Mr. and knew you had just outdone yourself.
Hi! I came across your blog from The Nesting Place, and have absolutely loved reading it! Wanted to let you know that I've stopped by, and will be back often.
OH MY STARS, GIRL!!! This is the cutest blog design ever!! Seriously, I'm loving it.
You know, I watch Friends all the time and the purple never bothers me. It just seems so perfect for the characters and the show...but would I paint my house turquoise and purple? Uh, NO!
I did always want the gold frame the surrounds the peep hole in the door though!
Em, I so enjoyed seeing the new house the other day! It was fun to see how much the details in our houses are alike. Can't wait to see the finished product.
Thanks for coming by to check out baby Chloe and Square or Round? Square it definitely where it's at...so much easier to organize than round!
Your new beautified blog is making me want a fancy blog page. I have been able to resist until now, but my blog is starting to look junky.
And I'm with you on the purple, yucko! I always feel bad discriminating against a color, but I just can't get on board with purple anything.
I'm new to the blog world, and I'm not-so-secretly obsessed with your blog. Hop on over to mine sometime (please don't expect much) if you like. Thank you for all your great posts! Chris
It's not quite as bad as you imagine living amongst total remodeling chaos--it only took me 6 months to recover from my experience :). I bet you'll actually be amazed at how much can be accomplished before May 6. Thanks so much for all the great pictures. It's so fun imagining what you have in store for each room. And I agree--somehow the purple trim works on the Friends apartment, but not so much in real life!
how is it that I just got all caught up on your blog, totally in love with the new design, entertained by all the remodeling, and yet, after seeing the friends picture, all I can think of is:
"I could go for some chicken!"
hahahaha!
love reading your blog, sis!
